Difference between Euro 3 and Euro end cans.

Hi all, I removed the Schnitzer (Remus) can from my 2016 RS and was going to put it on my 2018 RT, I contacted Schnitzer in Germany to ask if there was a different mounting bracket but they came back to say the can cannot be used on the RT because it was Euro 4 and the RS was Euro 3. So does anybody know if this would make a difference? would the bike actually be any different, I believe the differences are in fuelling, so for "legal" reasons are they just saying it cant be used??
