I am new to BMW and I would like to check the coolant level on my bike. Sadly, I cannot even find the word coolant in my owner's manual. I do not want to remove ALL the covers from the bike to find the surge tank. Can anyone tell me where/how to check this critical fluid?

Looking at the BMW Rider's Manual for an LC, (October 2013 onwards), "Coolant" appears in the index, see page 186.

If you have a 2013 bike, then is it a 'twin-cam' or an 'LC' model? The LC models were introduced in 2014.

If it is a 'twin-cam', then it's air/oil cooled and has no liquid 'coolant' other than the oil itself. Oil level is checked either electronically or via the sight glass in the engine casing.

If it's the later (2014-onwards) liquid-cooled version, then there is a coolant expansion tank in the RHS air duct. The coolant level is visible through a vertical slot 'window'.
