Attaching a Forward Camera

Hi Everybody

I have a camera which was previously fitted to the handlebar on a F800 GT and would like to fit it to my R1200RT.
I have the Ram mount ball and an extension arm which fits into another Ram ball which screws up into the bottom of the camera.
The handlebar part with the ball cannot be used as the RT does not have an similar handlebar and I therefore need to come up with a solution which maybe your Guys have already solved?
All ideas and pictures greatly welcomed?

For my Garmin GPS, I used this - https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-367U - pointing straight up, in place of one of the (4) handlebar bolts on one side.  On my 06RT, it would also have worked horizontally at the end of the flat part of the handlebars (pointing to the inside).


From there, you can use any length arm and adapter/holder you require for your device.  The downside of this mounting point for a camera, is that it moves with the handlebars...

I like the one that fits to the frame in front of the screen. Will it accept a ram ball?
Since it is in front of the screen it won't have to record through the screen which will lessen clarity?

???  Wunderlich didn’t actually develop & produce this item, so I’m going to go with $0.00


It sells through Wunderlich in Europe for €79.90, which is ~$118 CAD. The other $100??? I guess they fly them here one at a time - in First Class...

My friend, i agree that Wunderlich is overpriced! Is not your only choice, so you don't have to buy their product!
On the other hand, you are wrong. Wunderlich  IS paying for the design, prototype, production mold and advertising.
Is not a product that can be mass produced, therefore recover the expenses. Very few choose to buy these luxury
aftermarket items that we don't really need! They are of quality and good taste. . And that is why they are pricey!
You will notice in a short time there will be some Chinese similar products. Ask your self: how much did the Chinese
pay for the design? This time you can say: $ 0.00.

I like the bar end ram mount ball idea fitted to the left bar end.

This appears to be a replacement bar end incorporating the Ram ball mount? Do you have a Ram Mount Product code Reference for this item?

I lost one bar end, and, instead of paying a small fortune for a replacement.
made a pair out of Stainless Steel. As i finished them,  just occurred to me to
drill and tap for a ram ball. The factory bar end may be hard, and may not be
possible to drill and tap. If you have a friend machinist can solve that problem.
For the arm that connects the two balls i am using the short 2" arm. I think is
the best being short, so less vibrations. And yes, it is solid! As you may like,
there are longer arms, 3" and 5"
