Warm Swing arm?

Post by Royso »

Had my 2014 rt out for a run today and happened to notice that the swingarm was warm to the touch. Can anyone say if this is normal or should I be worried about the final drive?

Wherever there is friction there is heat. There will be heat transfer from the engine also. If oil levels are ok, its normal.

Yep, normal. One of the reasons shaft drive saps circa 10% of engine power. The heat you feel is wasted energy, however, we then don't have dirty old chain maintenance.
