Gear Change lever

Hi, does anyone know if the gear change lever from a 2010 onwards R1200RT will fit my 2005 RT ??

Iv'e not ridden my RT much after getting it last November, but I find that I need a wider gear change lever with my new boots, both my mates have 2010 RT's and I noticed that the gear lever is wider (about 15-20mm) so that would be easier to get my foot under. I guess BMW decided the original one was a bit too small and changed it on the later model ?

It also looks like the later one is adjustable, at the back of the bit that the rubber fits on to ?

Thanks

Mat

The (splined) selector shaft (#3) has the same part no. on both the 2010 and 2005 RT's, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?id ... 3417693523, therefore, don't see why the 2010 shift lever wouldn't fit a 2005 bike.

I've got extenders on both gear change and brake from "godzillabikes" on E-bay and they work really well in my opinion.
