Cell phone mount for a 2015 R1200RT

Post by Rwslater »

Has anyone mounted a cell phone holder (I have an iPhone 7) fo the 2015 R1200RT?  I saw one today where the base plate for the mount, bolts on top of the Brake reservoir.  If you have successfully mounted a cell phone holder to the 2015 1200 RT can you tell me which mount you bought and where it mounts?

Thanks in advance

I have a 2017 RT. This is what I use for my IPhone 6SPlus . The phone twists on and locks securely. There are other similar systems. I use a cable from the front accessory socket for power through a dual usb socket. I also bought a braided charging cable with a 90o connector.

There are many many ways to do what you wish but this works for me.[emoji3]

Interesting set up, thanks.  Does the BMW emblem just pop off? How is the mount secured to the handle bar?

The BMW logo pops out / levers of its hole, there are a couple of securing lugs. The ram ball comes with a long screw which you hand rotate into the hole.5 mins max job.

Do you happen to have a part number??? I REALLY like that position and I can't find it anywhere here in the states or even over seas.

I have the mob armor, it's nice but I have Illium risers to clamp it to, I had to modify the clamp when I used it without the risers, ground the clamp a little narrower.  I can pop it off and use it on my other bikes or my bicycle.  It fits my iPhone 7+ and will take a bigger or smaller phone.
