BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Hi Folks
My 2009 R1200RT has lost its dip beam, both bulbs. The main beam is fine, but no dippers!! I wouldn’t normally fuss, but I’m in France where I believe the police can be fussy. I won’t be driving at night, but I’m thinking that it should be sorted. If one dip beam bulb goes, does that take out the other? Or do they usually fail together? I think unlikely but advice much appreciated.

It's unusual for both bulbs to go at the same time, if one blows it doesn't affect the other. I think main beam bulb is the same so you could check the dips with that bulb.Good luck

Not that unusual, both the bulbs blew together on two of our 07 RTps a couple of times over the last few years.
