Power socket adapter

Does anyone know if you can get a double adapter, (i.e. fit 2 plugs into 1 socket), for the auxiliary socket at the top of the left fork? (See Bobf's post https://www.1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=3 for photo).

I already use the socket to provide power for my phone, which I use as a satnav, and want to add a pair of extra lights that I've been given.  As I'm not sure of the make, I don't want to mess up the CANBUS, so want to wire them directly and simply to a switched power feed, as per this socket.

Thanks PeteM, but neither is what I'm looking for.

I need an adapter to take two plugs from the single power socket as per the photo.  It's not a "cigarette lighter" type socket, nor do i want USB power outlets.

Have you verified power at this socket. As I believe that BMW has to turn on that socket via software to enable the Fog light option that plug is used for.Another option would be to run power direct from the battery to what ever plug's you wish to use, maybe be via a fuse block.

Hi bighopper,

"I already use this socket to provide power for my phone", so yes, I have verified that it has power.

I was trying to avoid having to run a separate supply from the battery, but if no-one knows of an adapter then that"s what I'll have to do.

This photo is of a 2017 LC.

The Signature says, "2010 R1200RT SE - The Silver Machine"

Which bike is the power socket adapter required for.

Hi David,

My bike is the 2010 SE; the photo was for information, (hence why I wrote see Bobf's post...)

If not using the power socket on the upper left faring panel, it could be disconnected and used to supply the extra lights.

A connection cable like this one is used between the main wiring harness and the power socket itself.
They are available as a separate spare part. The cable could be cut and the female socket (left-hand end) used to supply the extra lights.

Hi David,

Good point, but I use that to connect battery charger and run a tyre inflator, so don't want to disconnect it.  Hence the enquiry about an adapter...

Does anyone know what the extra CANBUS connection, under the LH fairing, is used for (as shown in the photo)?  I presume it is the auxiliary light connection point (my 2015 doesn't have the extra lights).  Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks
