Wales - September 2020

Post by David. »

It's looking very likely that two or three of us from Teesside will be heading to Wales this week.
We could accommodate a.n.other to make it a max. of four staying overnight.
(Anymore than four would have to create their own extended household, see below).

We will be staying in Wrexham for 3 nights, leaving two full days for ride outs.
Got two routes planned, a circular around the Snowdonia National Park and a SW route as far as the Elan Valley.
Would any Welsh locals like to join us for the day ride outs. We would be leaving our hotel in Wrexham at 09:30 on Thursday 17th & Friday 18th.

As of today Monday 14th, the new Covid-19 guidelines for Wales would allow up to 30 to meet outdoors, whilst only up to six from an extended household can meet indoors.
Those of us from Teesside are effectively forming an extended household (max. of 4 households).

If this is of any interest to you, please let me know.

Unfortunately, Markus can't make it, that just leaves Neil & I from Teesside. At the moment, I've got 3 rooms booked at the hotel with the option to cancel up to 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday 15th). If anyone would like the room, it's £135 room only for the 3 nights. A fourth room could easily be added, I've checked with the hotel and they do have further availability.

We are staying at the Wynnstay Arms Hotel, Wrexham, https://www.marstonsinns.co.uk/inns/wyn ... el-wrexham

Our outward route on Wednesday 16th has P&T stops at Bolton Abbey (off A59),  M65 Services off J4 (Blackburn with Darwen) & Lymm Services (M6/M56).

Garmin BaseCamp routes are available.

We just came back last Saturday.
2 days in Breckon, then 5 days in Pembrokeshire (St. Davids) then move to another 5 days to Snowdonia.
We saw so many bikes over there.

I got back at 14:15 this afternoon (Saturday 19th).

As planned, did a Snowdonia circular one day, then the Elan Valley the next day.

Hi David,

I really should get on the forum more....

Tim and I were camping close to Brecon in the week that you were there too.  It would have been good to join your ride out.

Next time...

Hope you're well.
