The break times are a maximum for guidance only, giving a sensible arrival time at the destination for the end of the day.

You'll be surprised how time can get away with you at the P&T stops. Particularly with a group who want to stuff their faces.

Not forgetting those GS's which won't do the distance on a tank full of fuel and will need a longer comfort break.

It has just been brought to my attention by a.n.other, that on Day 1 of the Trip Planner itinerary, the time for the first section is not correct either.
It says 1 h, 0 min for 73 miles, when the section time is 1 h, 11 min and I won't be averaging 73 mph.

Here is another example of a part route itinerary where the first section doesn't add up.

I don't know what it is but for some reason, Trip Planner doesn't get that first section time correct but all others are ok.

Ignoring the minor Trip Planner foible of the time for the first section, it is a useful means of sharing an itinerary with others.

The arrival at and departure from times for the P&T stops are correct.

I've just done another itinerary and the first section time is correct!
