I am waiting on this company which developing a bracket to install behind the TFT and the owner promises to be a user-friendly gadget for the purpose of sporting an external GPS

Perhaps they are developing stuff for the RTP, FMS Accessories. TFT Radar Display Dashboard Mount - MY2021+

David, I talked with the owner...while the current bracket for the police radar reader may be used for an external GPS mount, he is developing a much more user-friendly bracket for the purpose of the GPS mount.


My recent struggle with the GPS is: it won't clear the Computer Trip record.
Well, its random, yesterday I tried to clear the data, it would not. This morning I jump on the bike and the data from previous trips was erased (cleared). Then, today I tried to clear it while I was parked and it would not again....glitch-o-rama

BMW are providing a "Specially designed" Nav 6 mount thats been produced for the 1250RT.
Anybody got any photo's of this Special mount.

So there is no Sat Nav integrated on the new TFT screen ?

IMHO I can't understand why you would want to mount an additional Nav unit when you have the TFT screen.


I have the same bike and use a Samsung S21plus phone and everything works perfectly.


But at least the mount looks better than some I've seen.

...those who mount Gamin do not trust the TFT connectivity...the Garmin is a simpler way to do things...

Unfortunately no - you must use the BMW Connected App on a smartphone. No phone, no GPS.


Also the connectivity is a combination of Bluetooth and Wifi which is wonky at best. Effectively BMW released all of this TFT Connectivity stuff while it was what most people would consider beta (aka not ready for primetime).
