Hello all. Sorry if this is a topic already covered.  I’ve had a wee look but can’t see what I’m after.


I have a 2019 1250.  I use it for work and I’m looking to wire up a previously owned Zumo sat nav to allow me to use phone etc.  I’m looking for the auxiliary plug  into the harness to allow me to connect via the accessory connection wire I already have.  I’m told the 1250 has a pre wired socket for this purpose but can’t find reference to it in the manual.  I’m looking to replicate the connection I had some years back on a 2013 800GS .  It was visible next to the battery.


Any advice to location and access to it greatly recurved. TIA.

Have you got TFT?

Pre TFT. Model.  Assuming the clocks need to be removed? 

No there is a panel on the top that comes off its only 4 screws

Do you have the BMW sat nav mount?

BMW sat nav mount is on the bike bit I have an after market mount that I can mount on the panel screws I can then mount the zumo and use the additional power supply .  Off to look for those screws now.  Thanks.

Follow the wiring for the bmw mount and disconnect that and thats the wiring plug you want

I got one of these to save a bit of faffing about. Fits the sat nav mount brilliantly and pops off using the standard release button.

Fourbears, this device looks real cool!  Can same device also accomodate a non-BMW SatNacv? Say a Tom Tom, or another Garmin?

Although I and a few others have had power issues with the XT in that once you have started the bike it cuts the power and stops charging

I’m revisiting this as my last solution wasn’t a success.  With the time of year meaning I can use the bike again for business  I’m keen to see if I can get a solution that works. @ sakm can I confirm that power should get to the unit from the original cradle although I understand you have had a problem?  Did you manage to rectify it? TIA

Yes power is taken off the original mount


I did have a problem yes and I found a solution and fixed it for pennies


I also spoke to the vendor and let him know what was going on and showed him my solution which I am led to believe he has rectified the issue

Personally I think it's the best solution for me


The mount can be kept on the zumo xt and you just unclip it as you normally would with a nav v


A lot of people remove the nav prep then fit the xt mount and space it out but it's extremely hard to get in to release the xt and sometimes you need a tool to do it
