R1250RT 2021 spare aux plugs

[align=left]Anybody advise on the location of the spare unused aux plugs on a 2021 RT LE.

I want to plum a Zumo XT in and don't want to splice the used Aux cable on the R/H side of the fairing.
On older bikes there appeared to be 2 spare plugs that were unused when new, I just want to plug into one of the spares.

With the introduction of TFT for navigation, there may not be any spare aux plugs which are normally used for nav. prep. on previous models.

If the bike is not fitted with an additional onboard rear socket, on the wiring harness, there may be an unused plug/socket which could be plugged into with a BMW repair plug connected to the Zumo XT.

If there's not any spare plugs and I appreciate your logic, I'd use the fairing Aux plug.
I'd just need to identify the female connector and wire straight to the XT

Found this thread on BMWLT, asking a similar question, Looking for Switched Power Source on 2021 R1250RT | BMW Luxury Touring Community (bmwlt.com)

There is no mention of any spare plugs.

I had the L/H fairing panel off this afternoon and exposed the Aux plug wiring. If I can find the connector type I can sort it out without splicing the loom.
I'll try the dealer for info when they open.

BMW makes a splitter for the aux power outlet on the right side. Part# 61127698475
Might be what you need if no spare available. Will be watching this if you find an unused spare on the bike.

That looks like a good solution, particularly if the use of the aux. power outlet is to be maintained.

This thread on BMWLT, Tapping into accessory circuit /2015 R1200RTLC | BMW Luxury Touring Community (bmwlt.com) shows the splitter being used on a 2015 Wethead.

Neat easy way to tap into aux socket.

I'd rather save £60 and use this method of splicing.

Thats a horrible method of splicing into a wire. If you are going to splice into a wire use Pozi-Taps. At least these cause virtually no damage to the wire.

However I would spend the £60.

As used by a BMW dealer to provide a switched live from the rear aux. socket on my 2010 Camhead.

A soldered wrapped T joint provides mechanical strength and electrical continuity.

The Wunderlich offering does look like the nicest "plug & play" option, no cutting or splicing.

Thats pretty much what I was looking for thanks, now if I can identify those connectors I could make it myself and save the £59.

That could well be a problem, I'm not aware of any source other than BMW.

The links below show two pages of repair plugs for an R1250RT.

Select part (bmwsupply.co.uk)

Select part (bmwsupply.co.uk)

They ain't cheap either!

I'd splice or Posi-Tap the +ve switched live and find a good -ve earth/ground on the frame or better go to the battery.

If you're not bothered about a switched live, just go straight to the battery.
