How does one adjust the Instrument Panel?

Post by Randyjaco »

I can't figure out how to adjust the position of the instrument panel on my 2017 RT. I have tried doing what the manual says. It moves slightly but won't stay in position, Is there some trick to adjusting the angle of the panel?Another question on the panel: Average Consumption. Is that figure of the consumption over the entire lifetime of the bike or is there a way to reset it for a trip or specific period of time?

As to the consumption question (on my 2009 RT):  Just press and hold the BC button until the figures disappear.  It will then show you consumption figures in "real time" after that.  To find your current consumption/mileage figures, let's say when you reach your highway speed on a long trip, just clear it again to see your highway mileage figure.  Otherwise, it will average out your consumption between city/highway.  I usually reset it with every fill-up, then zero out my trip odometer (there are two trip odometers you can cycle through) with the left hand button on the bottom by holding it down until it reaches zero, then you can check your mileage by doing the math with your gallons/litres filled.  I find the consumption figures are usually very close, though.

You do as the manual says but you have to be pretty firm with it and then when it moves you think its going to break!

I crapped myself when I did it!

I then altered it back the position it was in as it was right in the first place!

As for consumption you can reset them all I think you scroll to it then press and hold to the right to reset it

Thanks for the quick responses.
I was able to click it up 2 notches. Hopefully that will be sufficient. :)

Have post-hexhead models provided a "super-bright" button/setting for the display to temporary intensify the screen in difficult light conditions.  Hate taking my eyes off the road tring to make out the info on it.
