Just in the process of prepping the RT for a return to the roads in April. First problem. Trying to remove my Air Compressor from the compartment behind the pillion seat lock it had become stuck. (It was a tight squeeze when sliding it in there). Eventually I managed to retrieve it but obviously it would be a bad idea to re-place it in the same place.
Question. Can anyone recommend a compressor which will fit in the said compartment (Twin Cam). There are numerous compressors available but no one seems to give the all important dimensions.

Many thanks for the replies chaps. Decided to go with the one recommended by Sakm. Ordered on Friday, delivered today. Really neat and compact design, "easily" slides in the space behind the pillion seat locking catch. Bargain price of £12.20 delivered.

One thing to make sure though before you get caught out is that whatever you plug it in to can supply enough amps without tripping out!


The first time I used it was connected to my optimate lead and it blew the fuse! which I think was a 7.5A I replaced it with a 10A and all is well

Thanks for the warning Sakm, I have an extra socket on the rear fairing below the pillion area, which is wired directly to the battery. There is an inline fuse so I will check the rating tomorrow.

Fuse rating is 15amp so all good to go.

Sure the accessory plugs are rated at 10A for older models and 5A for newer ones. I know before i fitted a lead directly to the battery that the pump tripped the Cambus after a few seconds. Using higher rated fuses is not a wise thing to do

My 2016 is 10A total for all sockets


But I run mine of the optimate charging cable

No fuses are fitted in the CAN-bus network.

The Slime compressor requires a 15A fuse, whereas, you'll get away with 10A for both the airMAN and AA units.

I meant the power lead inline fuse.

Not all are!


My optimate 3sp had a 7.5A fuse some are known to have a 10A fuse too so best to check what is in there and check what is required for the compressor


The AA one requires a max 10A fuse there no "getting away with it" thats what it needs
