Seats again.

Hi

My 2020 RTLE has what I think is a low heated rider's seat.

700 mile round trip over two days and I think I need a more comfortable seat. I see some owners opt for Russell and other brands. I do not want to have this seat remodeled as I would want to refit it if I sell it.

I like the height but could put up with a little higher if needs be. I do not really need the heating.

I would appreciate some recommendations.

Thanks

I have a sargent seat, don't know if mine is the low one tho. I find it comfortable, but for really long days I have added one of these https://www.roadraceandcustoms.co.uk/airrider/ the advantage of this type of air cushion is that it self inflates, press a button to let out air to suit yourself. Bit fiddly to fit, I've stapled the fixing straps to the base of my seat. HTH, Nick

Thanks. That looks like a possible alternative to a new seat. I have tried sheepskins but ne real help.

Did you get the medium size?

Thanks for your advice.

I just sent back the US version of that seat. I put @1000 miles on it. It was more comfortable than the stock seat, but not $500 worth. You would probably do better with a Russell. I am now waiting on a Terry Adcox seat, and it is a long wait.

I'm going to try the air seat as a fix. If not, I will heed your advice.

Thanks

LD Comfort shorts help a lot. I was riding 3.5h twice a week on a seat that started to get miserable after 15 minutes, they let me ride straight though, a tolerable level of discomfort. I bought a Russell Day-Long, and that fixed everything, though the LD Comfort are still good on hot days.

+1 they do help a lot, but buying them here in the UK can be pricey with Customs charges.
I bought a pair because I was suffering with the stock seat on a ST1300,but the combination of a Sargent seat and the LD's did the job.
Did I see somewhere he's retired?

Arrived. Fitted but try out on Tuesday. I do have some motorcycling padded shorts so will try those in combination.

Cheers

Had an hour with this seat today. Early impressions are good. Only needed it just about inflated to add comfort and anything more inflated felt like being at sea !!

I usually crave a stop after an hour but I could have gone on for a while yet.

Thanks for the tip Old-Git
