Yes, sorry I've taken my eye off the ball recently. Re-entered the world of employment and its taken up my time.
However, I've struggled on with basecamp and created a route which I'll put out in a couple of weeks, just need to fine tune it. Still don't really understand the basecamp software but giving it a go.

I've used Basecamp for years now and created loads of routes without any problems for myself and others.

For the most recent NM meet Stu (sakm) provided a link to a Google map which I copied/plotted on Basecamp.
When we rode it together, it worked a treat without any recalculations along the way.

To simplify catering arrangements I'm planning on booking a table in the Premier Inn restaurant for the Friday and Saturdays nights.
I have the on the list at the moment:

Me
Sullivj
Tim
Simbo
David
Markus
Michael2710
Bob21 and the Mrs

If there's there's anybody missing let me know. Also, if anyone has any better ideas again let me know. Happy to book somewhere in Dumfries for the Saturday night as an alternative.

Cheers

Mike

This place gets reasonable reviews:

However, it's a 30 minute walk from the PI. Bit of a pain after a day in the saddle.

Tim and I stayed at the Dumfries PI last year. The food there was OK - it was as you would expect.

The best meal we had locally was here:

https://www.cavensarms.com/wp-content/u ... 23-Web.pdf

Very popular pub food at realistic prices. When we were looking for somewhere to eat, this place had the best local Tripadvisor rating.

That said, if a nice local Italian is preferable to all, we’ll go with the flow.

I much prefer Myroute App for planning routes now
Given up on basecamp, plotted a route on MyRoute App.
Here's the second draft. Still fine tuning, needs coffee and lunch stops. Taken some of the roads from a Scottish motorcycling site which were recommended.

When I finalise it, which the best gpx file to use to upload it ? There seems to be several different types.

I always use gpx1.1 as you get all the waypoints/shaping points and a track too

I've just used the free version of MyRoute, what's the additional benefits of paying a fee?
