I've made a center stand protector for my Tiger 1050. I used a 2/3 mm ally sheet cut to size and used 4 P clips to attach it. I was surprised by how much crud i stopped. The P clips are like this.

So has anyone finished thier projects yet ?, I’ve not even found anything to make something up yet , it’s too cold still and I don’t have room in the shed . My black recycling box is looking favourite

Same as you,to cold and no room in the garage to get it on the ramp.Hopefully April will bring glorious sunshine and a buyer for the GSF1250

I’ve just collected the Chinese GS centre stand guard from our local Post Office, and I bought a reconditioned RT centre stand, freshly powder coated and with new springs from a friend who’s sold his RT and bought a Guzzi.

All ready to go except, like everyone else, it’s too cold to even consider playing in the garage until the sun shines again…

I am always in the garage in winter! its normally warmer than the house

That certainly beats a Tesco £12 hot air heater

Nice!, you can even brew up a nice mulled wine on that

So how has everyone got on ?, I’m still looking for some stiff plastic to fashion a rear extension and maybe something up front to ?.

Still interested to see what you guys came up with!. I’m sure I can just extend the rear dsure to below the bottom shock mount but I just can’t find any thin black plastic other than cutting up a large plant pot.

I haven't got round to it,all the gear and no idea springs to mind.

How did you get on with fitting.Just tried mine,lines up with the holes OK and bolts up,unfortunately there is no gap on the exhaust side and about an inch on the drive side so it will be all lopsided and rub the tyre.Oh well,worth a try.

Apologies for the late reply. I couldn’t get the mounting bracket reduced to avoid rubbing the inner wheel arch so have given up on this project again

My solution was the same as the cable tied rubber only I cleaned up the area on the swing arm and attached it with Tiger Seal.
A three week tour of Norway and six week tour of Europe this year and absolutely no sign of it coming off.
I checked it when I changed the rear tyre after the last trip and I reckon it would need some pretty heavy prising to get it off!
They fit car panels using Tiger seal, it's pretty tough stuff!
Anyway, just my variation on a theme.

So any new ideas here ?, I still haven’t tried anything yet !.

Nor have I,can't get it on the bench either as I have another project on the go
