BMW ConnectedRide Navigator

Post by Wai437 »

I’m sure some of us are aware of the new BMW ConnectedRide Navigator announced a couple of days ago.

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/global/a ... -navigator.

As stated, “ The hardware and software of the new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Navigator are compatible with all BMW motorcycles built from 2014 onwards (with restrictions), provided they have a multicontroller and if navigation preparation is already installed or has been retrofitted as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories.”

Had been checking on the web. Part number seems to be 77525A881E8 with no conclusive results on its pricing ranging from 600 euros to 800 euros

However given that the display is 5.5”, slightly bigger than Nav V/VI (5”), I wonder if it’ll fit into the cradle on the 2014-2019 RT’s that doesn’t have the TFT dashboard.

I would say, no chance. I have a zumo xt which has a 5.5 screen and that has to sit 40mm further forward and then only just fits in the gap.

But they might make an adaptor like the 3d printed one you can get to make the xt fit the Nav mount of course,

V good point. I’ve never thought of comparing the size of the new navigator with XT’s. Was soooo looking forward to get the new Navi given its function to link with the connected ride app.

Yep, hopefully there’ll be a 3D adaptor mount that’ll work with the new Navi since the wonderwheel function on the RT for navigation doesn’t really work as direct as the GSes.

Thank you!

@sakm Thanks for the video. I’ve never thought the connectedride cradle doesn’t fit to the slot for navigator as well

I have just realised you was talking about the connected ride screen that they now do and not the cradle!

I have compared the connect ride size to the Nav 6 and the connected ride is 14mm wider than the Nav 6 and about 2mm wider than the Zumo XT

I see. thanks for the info!

Interestingly, according to this website https://www.motorrad-stilgenbauer.de/pr ... navigator/ (need to translate) , it’s compatible with 2014-2018 R1200RT. Though it remains to be seen how accurate the info is, given that the physical product is only available from 1 Nov 2023. What’s more interesting is, it even states that it’s compatible with a 2021 and beyond R1250RT which doesn’t even comes with a cradle on the bike.

I am wondering how it will actually work as on the RT the wonder wheel doesn't work the same as on the GS etc you have to have the LCD display on the NAV menu for it to operate the Nav 5/6 so I'm not sure how that will work

Also on the 1250 the connectors will be there to plug the nav prep in to

Recently launched video on the device,

Even though towards the end (3:10mins) he mentioned “compatible with ANY BMW built IN OR AFTER 2014 as long as they have the multicontroller and MOUNT which they call Navigation preparation”. Doesn’t seem very optimistic given its size and with no part in the video featured a RT. It seems like we are forgotten.
