Questions for our states members

Post by Doctor T »

Still suffering from the effects of Covid, ive been watching a lot of TV. Mostly from the USA.
What are your thoughts on these subjects?
1. Every house over 100 years old is haunted.
2. Is Bigfoot walking around
3. Everyone seems to use any lane on a highway. In the UK on our highways, we have 1 lane for slower traffic and the other 2 for overtaking. These are not the proper names for these lanes but that is how they are meant to be used.
4. Watching a YT channel called Just rolled in. It seems Americans do not know how to do the simplest thing to their cars
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Doc
To reply to your questions:
1. Not true, I was raised in a farm house well over one hundred years old. No one lives there anymore more and I visit it occasionally and it is not haunted.
2. Never seen him, only poor quality magazine pictures. I don’t think he exists.
3. We have the same rules about right lane “slow” and left “faster”, but in heavy traffic areas it is ignored. Where I live with no heavy traffic the rule is generally followed.
4. I think American people are more mechanically inclined than you think. I think in the cities you maybe somewhat correct, because they don’t have the room or the tools to do repairs. But in rural areas it is much different. I was raised on a farm and we did practically all the repairs on the farm equipment and including the motorcycles.

Inside overtakes are a common sight on our motorways too Doc, and I don’t think mechanical incompetence is a stranger here in the UK either…

No road is safer than the other or more dangerous than the other

It's the idiots using them that's the problem

But I think we all know that anyway

1. Most would say they are likely haunted. 2. Never saw it but like aliens most will likely say its real. 3. Lanes should be used like that but most don't. They use whichever. 4. Absolutely true. Not a trade passed on to the younger generations much.

Number 3
There are some people that are terrified of changing lanes, so once they get in a lane, they won't change lanes except to take the off-ramp. The problem is, for some reason they pick the fast lane and act like they own it.

I was on the M4 yesterday on the Varadero and there was one 4x4 who thought the outside lane was his and his alone.
