Well the salesman from the BMW Exeter dealers sent me the photos. And true to his word he sent photos that he would want to see.
He was very honest in showing me the condition of the bike. I know it is just over 5 years old and with less than 7k on it. but to me it looks like its been use in the winter and put away unwashed and wet with salt. I have told him its not the right bike for me.

They are going to send me some hi res photos of the bike.
He did say that there is a light scrap to the left pannier and some paint bubbling on the engine.
He did say they might be able to knock a little bit off, but not much.
Will wait and see the photos.

As long as it's not to bad, I can spend a bit of time on it over the winter and fix all the not so good bit.
I don't mind doing a little bit of work on it, as long as the price is right.
Only having 2 owners and only 6563 miles, does help it its faver.
Service history is a must but at 6563 it wont have much
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

To give me something to do over the winter, I'm going to take a punt on the 2019/69 R1250RT LE.
The only thing it does not have (I Think) is the Hill Start Control.
But is does have a top box which is a plus. And only one owner from new. with FBMWSH (5 stamps in the book)
The dealer sent me loads of hi-res photos and it look 100% better than the other bike i was looking at.
Most bikes of this age are £1500 more or dont have the top box.
There are some SE for around the same money, But this is the LE with a good spec list.
Also got to remember £10,200 today is the same as £8,400 in 2020.
When i bought my 2009/59 Hayabusa in November 2020, i paid £4900 for an 11 year old bike which was £9,500 new.
So buying the 2019/69 R1250RT LE, which is 4 years old for £10,200 is not to bad when is was about 16k new, plus the extra's on top.
Bikes are not cheap anymore like it was 5 years ago. there prices for a used bike has just gone silly because people are not selling.

Personally I'd stay well clear of that one on the simple grounds for every bit of corrosion you can see, there are half a dozen bits you can't. Think of all those suspension components that are difficult to see (and expensive to replace), and where road salt will have hidden and quietly done it nasty business.
