Depends which crash bars. If they are Illium, no, the fronts are different, the rears are the same.

Does anyone know if the R1250GS or RS crash bars fit the 1250RT ?

Going by the SW-Motech website the part number is the same.

Crash Bars from AliExpress

Post by EasyRider »

So being a tight git and not being in a rush. I bought my crash bars from AliExpress.
I bought the rear first on the 10th Dec. I then bought the front bars on the 13th Dec.
I did it that way as it worked out a small amount less as i did not have to pay the Post Office any money.
So i paid £96.90 including VAT for the rear and £135.54 for the front bars.

The rear bars came today, and wow i am very happy with them.
The packaging was first class. Every part was wrapped up in foam.
The powdercoating is very good aswell, and the welding is spot on to.
Here are some photos of the rear bars and fittings.

Got my Wunderlich copies from Ali as well. Even came with the "W" destructions. Worked well on 3 drops and no rust showing after 3 years
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

I fitted the front crash bars this morning as i needed to fit the lights for the wiring.
The offside one was a very good fit. But when i fitted the right side it dipped downwards a bit.
So i had to add 2 extra 5mm spacers to the right side lower front mount to lift it back up level.
For the price, they are still a very good buy and i'm happy with them.

Does anyone have the HEED rear crash bars fitted.
Just want to ask if they get in the way of the pillions legs.
The ones i bought are Wunderlich copys and get in the way.

One thing i have found with fitting the Heed rear pannier bars, is that the pillion lowering foot rest brackets wont fit as there is not enough room due to the bar going under the rest to the sub-frame mount.

For those who have the Heed front bars, are there concerns about scraping them before scraping the pegs? I have a set I ordered but haven't installed them because I occasionally will scrape a peg (which obviously flexes up) but don't ever want to be scraping the crash guard which doesn't flex.

Thanks
