Nice job. I agree with your comment about poor customer service from Akrapovič. Problem is that they sort of monopolise the exhaust market to a certain degree so they basically don't give a sh**.

Update:

BMW have declined to replace the silencer, as the bike is not under warranty anymore. The do have, though, agreed to give me a 50% discount on a new replacement. As things are, I cannot find a decent welder in my immediate area and a new Akra is going to set me back €1000 so I"m biting the bullet and ordering a new silencer from BMW. It's still going to set me back €620 but its better than the full cost. Thanks all for your posts.

Its a shame you could not post it to a member here in the uk to see if they can get a good welder to fix it for you.
