Bench lift

In August 2022 i bought my second bench lift. So i had one in the workshop and one in the garage.
Now i only paid £200 for it which was a good price used.
My other bench lift i replaced the ram to a Pneumatic/Hydraulic ram to save my knees.
When i bought the second bench lift i wanted to do the same.
I found out that it was the same ram as Draper use, so i rang up draper spare parts and none were available.
18 months later (ie today) i get an email letting me know they were in stock.
So i'm now £170 poorer, but will have one here on friday (we will see).

This is the ram i have coming that is fitted to the blue bench lift.

I must be in a good mood. I just bought a SwitZer 1100LBS Scissor Stand.
Got 8% off so only paid £45.07.
The 2 upright parts come off so you can just use the flat bed.
I've been using my small 2 ton trolly jack for over 25 years

I was offered an all sing and dancing ramp from a workshop but they shut down without notice before I could get it. Like you I've used a trolley Jack and a modified scissor Jack with a plate welded to the top. As I am getting older and the old back hurts more from bending, I have a ramp on the wish list.

Buying a bench lift was the second best thing i did, Buying the Pneumatic/Hydraulic ram was the best thing i did.
I just put my foot on the airline pedal and up it goes.

I also fitted marine ply and carpet tiles on the bed of both of my bench lifts.
The ply has made them both wide enough to use the Abba Stand on them Safely.
The carpet tiles have just made it more enjoyable to use.

I use a Abba Skylift. Find for most jobs it give me easy access to the bike and I can change the attitude Front Wheel up back wheel up of level.

Easy to remove the wheels etc and get at the underside

How I hate people with tidy garages, but it’s only jealousy
really!

I do a regular 3 monthly clean up and it looks really good… for at least two days.

Don't worry Steve, plenty of us like you :thumb: I can't belive the amount of rubbish my garage generates, sure someone is flytipping in there.

Both the Pneumatic/Hydraulic ram and the Scissor Stand came yesterday.
The Scissor Stand is very well made and heavy.
Now got to dig the bench lift out from the corner to fit the new ram.

one thing i forgot to say. Both my ramps had a 800lbs ram fitted from new.
Both the Pneumatic rams i now have are 1000lbs ram.
What i like about the new ram i have just bought.
Is it can be used with both air and foot pedal to raise the lift.
My other bench is air only.

Hah… tidy garage! Lots of space now 😊

Prompted by shame and a nice day for the bike to be wheeled out, enforced by the fact I didn’t shut the freezer door properly and it was totally iced up 🙄 so I had to tidy up for space to empty it out.

But now it’s done and I’ve just enough time polish my halo!
😇
