Is there anyone in the San Diego area that has hands-on experience with replacing a drive shaft? I have a '06 R1200RT. Went through my manual but a little hesitant to start removing things. Thank you. Jeff.

I'm having that done now in Temecula.
Ordered re conditioned shaft online for $1000.
Arneys garage in Murrieta is doing labor for about $400.

There are several videos on YouTube demonstrating this procedure. You might want to watch a few and see if it's something you might want to attempt. Doing your own work on these bikes saves you a LOT of money!

I am grateful for the encouragement. Thank you. Replacing a chain, putting in a heated seat, or doing an oil change is about it for me.
From experience I know I'm not good at more than that.

I never know what to do with the heap of screws, bolts, and other parts left over when I work on something.
