I have a 2029 RT with a VI nav and a Sena communicator.
Phone works, nav works but bike iPod to helmet just not happening.
Worked a few times but now nothing.
Should I just move on?

I have a Sena 50S and have had so much trouble trying to set this thing up and Pair it to my bike over the past couple of years. But I’ve got too much money in it between two helmets to change to another brand, so I keep trying to figure it out. I found the instructions contradictory and didn’t work half the time for me. After discussing my problem with Sierra electronics, who I bought both units from ( for me and my wife ) the last suggestion they made has helped the most. I realize it is a different model than you have but it may help. I had followed the SENA instructions , which was to pair the SENA unit to my phone then pair it to my bike. In your case, I guess that would mean pairing it to your iPad or iPod. The suggestion was to unpair it either from the bike or the phone, they said the unit can get confused. The suggestion has helped a lot and it does work better but it’s still not 100%. I don’t know if this will help you, but it’s worth a shot. Give it a try.

Not an answer to your problem, but it's worth reading the artice in the link below as it gives an insight into the tech battle going on.

Thanks guys,
Just deleted all pairings and started fresh.
Helmet to bike, helmet to nav, nav to phone.
Works for now let’s see on the road, have no expectations.
I’ll try your suggestions.

Thank you for the detailed responses. That web magazine is great!
I made the same mistake twice. First with a Noland communicator on a GT1300 and now with an HJC. I have a set of Sena 20’s I’ll try but the helmet is old and that’s not good.
I just want it all to work!! I love the bike, Really enjoying it, need a new seat, quickly!
