Repairing cast wheels
I've dinged up my front wheel on my last two trips in Mexico. Here's what it looked like in March when I got back.
Both times I had it straightened at a shop in Walnut Creek where they did a lot of heating with a gas torch. I imagine BMW did some kind of post fabrication heat treatment and that the repair heating probably changed the wheel back to its annealed state. 1) Does anyone know what the OEM heat treatment was (e.g., T4, T6...)? 2) Has anyone heat treated a wheel after a repair/straightening like this?
