Sargent heated seat and new clutch question

Post by tpavlusik »

I have a new to me 2007 1200 RT. It came with Sargent heated seat but it was never connected There is an unused connector with brown and violet/black wire. There is no power there unless the engine is running. No constant power. If I connect the meter the current jumps to 10-11V then drops down to 0V. Could this be because there is no load on this circuit? Is this the ftont seat heat connector?
I also replaced the clutch. I installed complete clutch kit. It is a quite tight. It start to engage right away when the lever is released. There is almost no play in the lever movement before it starts to engage. Is this normal? Is there any kind of adjustment for this? Full disclosure, I never rode a motorcycle with dry clutch.
Thank you.

Have you tried just plugging in the seat? The worst it will do is trip the cam bus. If it does, unplug and turn the bike off, then on again. Cambus will reset itself again.
Clutch-wise wise I have no idea
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
May the shaft be with you
