Re: wunderlich screen

I'm never quite sure what people want from screens and I think we probably all have different levels of expectations but this is my opinion of the screen. Firstly I find the stock one fine. In summer I usually have it in the lowest position, I like the airflow. When its wet then I have it slightly u...

Re: Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

GvG I had a chance today to try cruise ON 3rd Gear 30 mph hands off and the bike track pretty straight. Yes there was some movement on the bars but I put that down to the road surface and a part worn front tyre. Overall reasonably stable. Any correction needed was sorted with just the slightest weig...

Yes probably the best gear retailer I have used. First class service and more importantly good advice. Do some excellent product videos too.

Re: Time for a new suit

+1 for Rukka. Bought mine in Jan 2009. My jacket discoloured and the whole suit was replaced in 2011. Apparently a bad batch of Goretex. I then had an issue with the rubber zip starting to come away from the jacket. Even though the jacket was 8 years old Rukka repaired the jacket free of charge. Exc...

Doesn't inspire confidence. Quite frankly I hope the next generation of RT they drop the valve.

Re: Rear-gear oil capacity for 2021 1250RT

I was only able to find a 2019 manual, which lists 180ml.  I measured what I drained out of my 2021 RT with a mix cup and measured 200ml. When I did my first service back in 2014 I did the same measured out what BMW had put in and was pissed off to see 200 ml. That is incorrect for 1200 bi...

Re: Rear-gear oil capacity for 2021 1250RT

Sure I understand. I think your only options are to either try and get the latest 1250 BMW workshop manual or ask the tech at your dealer to look it up for you.

Re: Rear-gear oil capacity for 2021 1250RT

If it is the same as the 1200 LC K52 bike from 2014 then its 180 ml. I cannot believe the final drive is different but do check.

Re: Handling Issues.

This is something impossible to diagnose on a forum. However I think the majority would say the RT handles extremely well for a big touring bike. So as the previous posters have said first check tyres and if good get the bike checked by dealer. I don't know the new bike suspension setup but maybe so...

Re: Smoke on Start up After Sitting for a While

There are threads on other forums that talk about smoke on start up if the bike has been parked on side stand. Oil getting into the combustion chamber on the lower cylinder. Could be complete rubbish. I always use centre stand so cannot confirm if this is true or just good old forum bollocks.

Re: Exhaust Flap Valve stuck at around 1000 miles - is this a record?

Exhaust systems are designed to deal with the volume of waste gases produced by the products of combustion from the engine. The 1250 (1254cc) engine capacity is 84cc greater than that of the 1200 (1170cc). When fitting an Akra (performance) silencer, surely it would be best to fit the correct one f...
