Service due warning light
Just fitted Clearwater Darla LED lights lights on my 2015 Rt1200 using Clearwater's "can opener". Fitting was fiddly, but I am delighted with the result. However, the service due warning light is now showing. What did I do wrong, or is it just a case of asking a dealer ...

Re: After market Horns
I too fitted a Nautilus horn using the recommended wiring kit which includes a relay. Instructions fairly easy to follow. Tricky part is getting sufficient access to remove the old horn and fitting new bracket. The Nautilus is very much louder. I feel safer knowing that if I have to use th...

Holding in first gear
I don't want to start another debate about gear change noises, but if stopped at traffic lights etc, I tend to hold the bike in first gear- clutch in, for maybe up to a minute to avoid the gear crunch from neutral. Any longer than a minute I do slip into neutral. Is holding in fi...

Re: Suggestions for gloves
I agree with RTman 10. Because the hands are well protected and if necessary the grips can be heated, I never seem to need anything more than lightweight gloves. I never use the assortment of heavyweight gloves I accumulated during my Harley days.

I am almost certain it is the exhaust flap, or the operating mechanism that squeaks. Is this the start of the kind or problem referred to?

Re: Exhaust Flap 2014 RT
Is it the exhaust flap that squeaks when I turn on the ignition?
Is this a pointer to future flap failure?

Re: Trip meters won't reset to zero
Thank you MacJ and RTman 10.
Just retried setting trips. Did exactly as I have done before many times (pushing and holding the multi-controller) and it worked! Beginning to wonder if there was/is a fault, or whether it was caused by a 'senior moment'!!

Trip meters won't reset to zero
2015 rt1200-lc. Just tried to reset trips 1 & 2 to zero by pushing multi-controller to the right, but nothing happens. also noticed that the auto trip has failed to zero itself after the usual 8 hours. Before i make an appointment at the dealer, can anyone offer a suggestion ...

My local BMW dealer told me the 'pinking' type noise was from the cam chain tensioner and nothing to worry about!

Re: Windscreen
Went for the Werks Quiet Ride. Considerable improvement on BMW screen in every sense. Was undecided between 24 and 26 inch given my height of 6,1. Based on reviews elsewhere, chose the 24 inch model. More than adequate, seldom raise it more than 2/3, whereas had to have standard screen at ...

Thank you RTman10. There is no need for you to take up my concerns. I will deal with this myself.

Re: 2016 R1200RT LC clutch master cylinder recall
No. RTman10 was NOT privy to the conversation I had with Pidcocks. I take exception to his suggestion that I failed to understand the very reasonable question I asked or the response, which was given in a return 'phone call after enquiries were made by Pidcocks. I sugge...

After much research, I decided on Wunderlich. Seem sturdy enough and relatively easy to fit.

Re: 2016 R1200RT LC clutch master cylinder recall
I am obliged to RT man 10. for correcting the information I was given by Pidcocks. When I telephoned them I asked for the Service Department and assumed the person I spoke to was from that department and knew what he was talking about. Even so I would have thought that someone from the Par...
