Re: Has the cold got to it?
A development. Now that the warmer weather has arrived I've started my bike and it fired up no problem, no sign of the battery struggling. I took it to the dealer yesterday and he tested he battery in front of me and it passed, he then tested it under load, engine not running and it passed again. Th...

Re: Has the cold got to it?
Gents, thanks for your prompt responses. In reply to Nick I got the bike second hand so I don't know if it's the original one or not. David I'm suspecting that it's the battery, the bike has been on constant trickle charge with the optimiser connected. I have noticed, when it was warmer and after I'...

Has the cold got to it?
Went to turn my bike over today and it started to turn then just heard clicking, solenoid type. Gave it a couple of tries and it clicked then turned over and fired up. I'm suspecting that the battery has given up the ghost with the recent cold weather. This has happened once before this winter, when...

I’ve got a Zumo 660, similar to David I’ll probably do the same.

Re: Trouble getting into 1st gear
I’ve had a similar problem on my 2005 and 2013, sometimes it wouldn’t go into first when cold. The dealer warned me about this and all I do is release the clutch then pull it in and engage first, hasn’t failed me yet. doesn’t happen when the bike is warm.

Re: Interesting Read about Insurance/Tax/MOT (U.K.)
If it fails the MOT it is unroadworthy and unlawful to drive on a public highway either from the test center or indeed to it. The light exception only applies if the front and rear position lamps are 'permanently disconnected, painted over or masked' in which case the vehicle would pass the MOT for...

Re: Interesting Read about Insurance/Tax/MOT (U.K.)
You can ride/drive your vehicle without an MOT if you are going to or from a pre arranged MOT or place of repair. If your vehicle doesn’t have an MOT and you have booked one and it subsequently fails and you are returning home this is perfectly legal, same with taking it to be repaired after it has ...

Re: Check your Number Plates
My GB is tiny compared to most that I’ve seen and to be honest if you get stopped abroad because the GB is small is petty, at least you’re displaying one. I’ve seen plenty of east European cars driving around without country identifiers or EU plates.

Re: Check your Number Plates
I have to agree with you David I’ve re-read it and it’s as clear as mud! It only stipulates that you need a GB sticker at the rear of the vehicle, no mention of the EU style number plates and whether you can have them or not. Fortunately for me mine is a sticker that I put on the number plate so can...

Re: Check your Number Plates
David the leaflet you were referring to explains the size of the blue EU sticker not the GB. The latest leaflet only mentions max size, dated 1 Jan 21 “[size=78%]You still need a GB sticker when travelling in Europe if you display one of these national flags and identifiers. The flag must be above t...

Re: Heed rear crash bars
I've finally fitted the bars and I didn't have to take the panels off. I attached some thin wire to the U bolt that goes round the frame, fed it through the bar and pulled the bolt through. The only giddily bit was fitting the washers and nut. I had to get the wife to do the top one on the offside a...

Re: Heed rear crash bars
Couldn’t wait until tomorrow and been out and tried to put the bars on, I’ve got the offside on loosely, I think I’ll need to take part of the body panels off to fit the last fitting. Put it down to OE, operator error!!!! I had been trying to put the bars on the wrong side. In my...
