Yes the cardan shaft was changed at 60,000 km. Agree it is an odd thing to be checking, especially has the engine has to be stripped to check it. Possible that the Service guy was blowing smoke up the proverbial !!

My r1250 rt with 70000 km has a vibration issue. BMW have advised that they are going to check the woodruff keys!

Given they are on the end of the crankshaft it is one hell of a job.
Anyone with a similar experience?

The bike went in for its 70,000 km service yesterday, I complained again about the vibration as it is getting worse. When I collected the bike I was advised that BMW head office had requested that the Woodruff key be checked. This no small job!!!

Good thought, unfortunately can only get the bike in on 17 December, short of mechanics. Time will tell.

Unfortunately the vibrations were there before new tyres fitted which are road 6 as well. Thanks for the comment. Will see what happens.

My 2021 R1250 RT with 60,000 kms has developed a relatively high frequency vibration which mainly felt on the pegs though can also be felt on the handle bars.

Bike has new tyres and also the Cadan shaft has just be changed by BMW. Who also state that the vibration is normal for a RT.

Hi Folks,

How do you get the rear brake disc off. From what I can see there is no clearance for a torx to fit as the diff blocks all of the retaining bolts. Taking the rear wheel does not help with access. Do you have to remove the cover from the diff?
