Re: Hi Seat Options

I have the 'high' seat on my '23....its quite level and not to mention, comfortable !
Frankly, I ordered it for the increased leg room.

Re: Android wifi connection to TFT (2023 RT)

Make sure you do not have a VPN engaged.
I lost my connection for a while last summer, took me forever to figure it out !

Re: Cooling system refill

I did mine 5 yrs ago, and time for another change. I find it helps to pour the coolant solution into the radiator very very slowly....that way, to avoid trapping in air as much as possible. When its near the top, start the bike with cap off and watch till it stops gurgling and falls/levels off. Shut...

Re: Why the BMW RT

Why? When the new shiftcam engine came out, then followed by that skookum TFT, I seriously started lookin to buy. The test ride in the summer of '22 convinced me. Interestingly enough, when I rode out of the dealer's parking lot with the Demo, I immediately thought: this is not the bike for me. Then...

2025 RT ?

Hello all, greetings from the interior of BC Canada ! Looking at our Motorrad site here and not seeing the '25 RT listed yet. All the other touring machines have been uplisted as 2025 models....but not the RT. In fact, pretty much the entire range of Beemers on the Canadian site has been updated sho...

Re: BASE 1250RT NON-ESA SUSPENSION

on the rear only, there are 2 adjusters....one for preload (which requires the incl. special tool) and one for damping (dial)....no adjustment on the front end.
Check out the owners manual that is available on-line from BMW, its all there.

Re: BASE 1250RT NON-ESA SUSPENSION

I have a '23 RT with base suspension, and its actually quite good ! The adjustment range for both pre-load and damping settings is broad. With my 186 Ilbs body weight and both side bags partially loaded, the ride is compliantly smooth and yet firm enough. My settings are in the mid range just one no...

Re: Bevel drive Crush washer vs O-Ring

Thanks for that David, haven't had to do the oil change yet, so I wasn't aware of the exact design difference in the parts !!

Cheers.

Bevel drive Crush washer vs O-Ring

It has occurred to me that something might be ass backwards here. I have taken notice that in all the documents I have read so far, an O-Ring is specified for the drain plug on the Bevel housing while a crush washer is for the fill/level plug. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Every drain plug o...

Re: Hill start control

Rusty, it looks like the Hill Start control on your bike is set to automatic. Perhaps you might want to go into the TFT settings and change it to manual for better control ?!

Re: No anti-drain back valve !

Okay, I have since learned the oil filter doesn't need a backflow check valve, reason being, the oil level in the sump reservoir is higher than the bottom of the filter thus preventing oil from running out of the filter back into the crankcase. At least, that's what I have been led to believe....per...

No anti-drain back valve !

Ya gotta be kidding me...after doing much research on oil filters for my '23 RT, I purchased 2 Mahle OC 619s, "OEM" quality made in Austria oil filters from Amazon. How the hell is this filter suppose to be the correct replacement for the BMW filters, when there is no anti-drain valve for ...
