I looked at those too but wasn't sure whether they might vibrate and mark the covers.
Great idea if they don't but haven't seen any reviews.

Re: Ease up on the cleaning!!
Just mic'd it at 1.25mm thick. It's conveyor belt material and seems to be resilient rubber topside with a woven rayon backing. It's really quite stiff - I made a couple of boot shields for the Pan '13 that I'm selling. Since I noted how dirty the lower mount was at the back I've been wondering abou...

Rocker cover protection
As I can't ride at the moment for snow, ice and mountains of salt on the roads up here I thought I'd see what might help preserve the '21 RT a bit longer for me. I'm remembering an IAM observer years ago had to replace the pitted rockers covers on his 12 and had to shell out ridiculous amounts of mo...

Re: Ease up on the cleaning!!
Aye, the extender does a wee bit to help the front of the engine but not much to protect the sump/headers - seems they concentrate only on taking care of what can be seen while standing up rather than what actually needs looking after!

Ease up on the cleaning!!
As soon as I bought the bike about 1k ago I trimmed a wee bit of conveyor belting to fasten at the bottom of the engine front guard so that it hung down between the spoilers to protect the sump from the worst of the road crud. The bike had done only just over 5k when I got it and the sump already ha...

Re: 2021 TFT Screen
When I bought mine a couple of months ago the screen was absolutely awful - really, really bad! I tried wipes, meths, polish, spit - the works and nothing did the trick and I fact some made it worse. In the end before fitting a protector from speedo I washed it probably around 6 or 7 times just with...

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.
Yes - it worked! All finished now. Made another couple of cuts to allow the speaker blanks to be removed easily to get at cabling. The GPS head picked up a signal at about 20s. Applying the copper sheet anything like flat/smooth was like wrestling snakes!! At the same time I slipped in a bit of weat...

Re: panels
I'm finding that using a long handled screwdriver to ease the Velcro pads apart as the panel is moved gently out and up disengages them well enough. I have to admit though that I've reduced the area of Velcro available to engage by putting a strip of insulating tape across one side - they come apart...

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.
Here's the shield so far Waiting for the top and bottom face woven copper sheets. Once they're bonded on and grounded through the ground strap it'll get a coat of stone chip then matt black for a pinseal like finish. After that it's just a case of bonding the flap under the ram mount to the panelwor...

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.
I had a look at the FMS product and it's got some good and unobtrusive ideas so... I've ordered up some copper shielding sheet and together with some plain aluminium sheet I have in stock, I'll form something similar to the FMS idea which is hopefully even less obvious and which doesn't rely on dril...
