Crimping the grommet sounds right but I haven't ever done it as my generic crimp tool can't do it. The connector in the video is a different series however.

The contacts have a barb that locks into the plug. The blue things are grommets that keep water out. To assemble, the grommets are pushed over the wire, the wire is then stripped and a contact is crimped on, the contact is then pushed into the connector until it clicks and finally the grommet is pus...

It sounds like the best course of action would be to send the bike back, get your money back and goto a different dealer. These problems seem to be unique to them.

I guess it's because if the lights don't perform people will change them or add more, like they do with past and current models. Same for pegs/seat/bar configuration, plus the new tubular handlebar option on the new model should make tweaking a little bit easier. You're stuck with that TFT display, ...

Just a word of caution, using a voltmeter - especially a poor quality one with a low sample rate -  on this type of system will yield unexpected measurements. You need an oscilloscope to figure out what is actually going on.

I think you get a warning when the system loses its cell signal.

Not a power socket but I did fit a bulkhead helmet connector for a Starcom there and a 3.5mm jack extension. Didn't cause me any issues.
