Re: WiFi Phone Charging

Thanks good advice. I tried removing the case again and the compartment lifting tab and yes it does charge when inserted top down only. The process of removing the case is too tedious for me plus the fiddly insertion and removal means I am more likely to drop the phone when doing it. Have ordered mi...

Re: WiFi Phone Charging

That’s great. What size is your phone and does it have protruding lenses on the back. Obviously the compartment will work with certain phones and the challenge is to identify those that work and those that don’t. It isn’t a setting issue. This compartment is not designed for all phones. If BMW were ...

Re: Foot peg lowering kit for RT

I used the brake lever lowering plate and it repositioned the brake lever very nicely about 10mm lower. With the foot peg being about 25mm lower it changed the relative positions of peg and lever to be perfect for me. On the gear lever side I tried lowering the lever about 12mm at the tip. When I we...

WiFi Phone Charging

My 2023 R1250RT has a mobile phone compartment with WiFi charging capability. I assume this is new with the 2023 model as I haven’t seen much discussion. Typical BMW. Great idea - woeful implementation. My iPhone 14 pro only just fits in the compartment with about 3mm to spare so anyone with a pro m...

Re: Foot peg lowering kit for RT

Ditto with the foot pegs protruding so far out my legs rub on them when I put my feet on the ground. Not so much an issue at standstill but if I try and walk the bike a bit while seated it is annoying.

Re: Foot peg lowering kit for RT

I also recently ordered and received the full kit from Ali Express for about A$70. I note that here in Oz the Wunderlich kit, from which the Ali Kit looks like it is a straight Chinese rip off from, costs over A$400. The Wundelich America installation video on YouTube covered everything I needed to ...

Intermittent Background Chime

Has anyone experienced a regular but intermittent background chime ("Dunk") through their headset? It is soft and only heard when music soft or between tracks. I suspect it is an intended message that the phone wifi charging is starting or stopping. I tried removing the phone from the comp...

Re: 2023 Poll of Tyre Options

Considering that my now new RT came with Michelin Road 6 GT it is not surprising that it has my vote. My previous experience with the F900XR which is 50Kg lighter is that I prefer the road feel of the Road 6 over the Road 6 GT. The dealer who sold me the bike commented that the GT were more appropri...

Re: After 3000 miles, am I still in love?

It was interesting reading your comments about the imperfections you have learnt to live with. I have only been riding my 2023 RT for about a week and agree with your comments so certain things remain part of the bike engineering makeup. I am comparing with my previous F900XR which is chain drive. T...

Re: Anyone bought a bike without a test ride

Bought both my F900XR and now R1250RT without a test ride. But did a lot of research before both. I find that the first time I ride a new bike it is like partially learning to ride again and my mind is (and should be) focused on the basics of operating controls that are in unfamiliar positions and f...

Hi from Sydney Oz

Hi everyone Bought a 1250RT sport last week after trading in my F900XR. Had done 30,000km on the XR and was an active member of that forum. Decided that since all my riding is on good roads with typical trip being 400km and occasionally 700km in a day that a better bike might be one set up as a tour...
