Battery acts low after riding

Post by Hydrashok158 »

Last year I posted about how my 2023RT would not start back up after a refuel or stop. The battery would seem to be low and unable to sping the motor fast enough to start. It would also throw up random errors on the dash. I would let it sit for a time and then it would fire up and run no issues.
It happened at the dealer when the service guy tried to start it to move it in the bay, so they were a witness. They replaced the battery under warranty. He wanted to go with a lithium battery but needed BMW to concur. Well, it is now spring and hotter in Florida, so it happened again. I have started carrying a jump box with me in case.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

It sounds like a charging issue. Have you had that checked out?

Yes, the dealer checked it before replacing the battery. It's an intermittent problem that seems to occur when the weather is warm and I try to restart after a lengthy ride.

I've had the issue with 2 different R1250RT on the same Saturday a year apart, putting a battery with a higher CCA rating seems to solve it.
