New (to me) Bike Finally Home!

Post by EdC »

In a rousing combo ride of small PA country roads around Lancaster, PA and a warp 8/9 rip down the PA Turnpike I drove my very very dark gray 2011 R1200RT home on Wednesday. Lovely machine. I think I'm a half inch off with boots for comfortable height. It's got a Sergeant heated seat in the lowest position and I'm thinking of ways to tweak that a bit lower--like getting offset rubber thingies? But that would seem to tip the seat forward, not lower the seat height evenly...

Edit: I see the rubber bumpers on the rear of the seat that could also be shaved a bit--until the other parts of the seat run out of space. Might get a centimeter or two with an offset rubber dingus on the front seat mount....

I also see on Amazon various seat lowering things that include a metal brace of some kind, anyone comment on that?

Knees got a bit sore from the seating position. I have an engine guard, could attach pegs, but do people find they are a bit spread out in such circumstance?

Otherwise a fine ride in great weather.

Congratulations!
I just did 8 hours on a stock low rider.
Terrible, interesting my knees hurt as well.
I just installed my Sargent and got some Illium? Floorboards.
Has to be better…
