Adding OEM Aux Lights to RT-P

Got any questions about the BMW's R1200RT/R1250RT's onboard audio, Bluetooth or the Electrical system?

Adding OEM Aux Lights to RT-P

Post by victorparknews »

I have a ‘17 R1200RT-P. I recently purchased the OEM Aux lights and the connection that comes right out of the lights (circled in red). However, there is no connection behind the front left panels (circled in green). I have the button for it on the handle bar along with buttons for alley lights and there is a cable coming out of it.

First, does anyone have an idea where the cord/connection (green) might be hiding?

Or: if I buy the connection circled in green, where would I connect that to for power?
I included a diagram with instructions that I found, but it doesn’t show where it connects to for power.

BMW told me the connection might be coiled up underneath the seat, but I don’t see any.

Everything in the second diagram is part of the auxiliary lights and need to the bought to make it all work

It plugs into number 2 in the first diagram which is part of the bikes wiring, is that plug there?

That’s the thing, there is no plug behind the front left fairing. I’ve been told the wiring for aux lights is different on the RT-P.
