2010 onwards parts for an 09

Post by Moosehead »

Ok, so I have an ex Sussex police 2009 RT and I love it!

I'm in the process of farkling it.

My question is, I would like the clear indicator lenses and the clear rear light set.

However I can't seem to find out for certain if they can be retrofitted to an 09 machine?

I'm also after the 2010 screen (more angular than the 09) and it seems that may not fit, but surely BMW didn't change the screen mounts that drastically? Did they?

During the short absence of he who will defiantly know the front indictors on the 10 look bigger than the 09 so probably not.  I have never noticed any difference in the back lights so maybe OK.  I do know that BMW are very clever at making small changes to uprated parts so we cannot fit them to earlier models so don't hold your breath. No good looking up part numbers as they will be different and many of the pictures on Real OEM don't change when the part does.

This is a 2008 model with the clear indicators so I assume it's possible....

Just the screen to go!

And then I need to find out if the police panniers will still open once I re install the rear seat/grab handle....

Looking at RealOEM, the parts list for the electric windshield adjuster is the same for an 05 as it is for a 10 model.

An easy way to find out if a part from another bike will fit yours is to look up the part on realoem.com on your bike.  Once you find the part you can click on the part number and a list will come up showing all of the bikes that the part will fit on.
The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.

Thank you gentlemen!!

So I assume the clear lenses and rear unit are ordered from BMW? I've looked at motoworks but they only have the fronts.

Will have to bite the bullet on the screen though as I can't find it anywhere.

Would an after market screen be a consideration.

I have a tail light unit with white/clear lenses, it's slightly damaged, cracked but not holed.
