hi all, newbie here. Please forgive if I'm using this forum incorrectly. The batteries in my 2015 TPMS are dead in both wheels. I located a pair of new Chinese knockoffs for 10% of what BMW wants for them! So, I'll put them on when I get a new set of tires.
Problem is, I don't have a clue how to get them sync 'd with the computer. I bought a 433 MHz wake up tool but I fear I need to have more? Any thoughts?
Cheers

Re: new TPMS aftermarket programming
You will need a GS-911 tool or similar to be able to program the new sensor ID's to the TPMS Module (ECM). I've used an Autel TPMS tool and my GS-911 to program a new sensor replaced on a R1200GS for another rider.
Might be some other method, or there is another device that works similar to GS-911 out there. In my Automotive experience we have devices that can clone the ID from the old TPMS sensor and so the new sensor uses the same ID as the old and no programming is needed, don't think this can be done with the BMW sensors.

Great answers, thank you so much. Since I don’t have a gs-911 or a laptop I’m now considering an attempt at a battery change on the existing sensors. I have purchased the 433 MHz wake up tool shown in your video and used it on my gm pickup so it’s already paid for itself.
Cheers

Found this thread on the K1600 Forum, Cheaper "OEM" TPMS sensors found (not chinese), Cheaper "OEM" TPMS sensors found (not chinese) | BMW K1600 Forum
Re: new TPMS aftermarket programming
The new style is a direct replacement for the old style as you call it. I have just bought a replacement for our 2014 bike and using the vin the new style is the only one you can buy from BMW. You do need the new screw to mount it

Re: new TPMS aftermarket programming
The new style TPMS is made by Schrader, Schrader TPMS: BMW R1200RT TOUR 2018-01 2020-12
The catalogue shows a listing for both OEM Products and Aftermarket Sensor. From what I can see, they are exactly the same, see EAN Code. The Aftermarket Sensor, Schrader PN: 3141M lists a number of OE Sensor Pn:, inc. that of the new style BMW TPMS. The new bolt required is available too.
The 3141M can be had for around half the price of the new OEM TPMS from BMW, Schrader Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor Without Valve For BMW R 1200 | eBay

The old sensor was also made by schrader (kidney shaped on) the new one is a direct replacement. So part 36318567683 old is replaced by 36319832032 new shape. I don't know about what the catalogue or Dr google shows, but we are lucky enough to have one of our volunteers who works for BMW. His price is very reasonable so job done

The Schrader 3141M TPMS was posted for anyone not wishing to pay BMW around £115 for a new OEM TPMS (made by Schrader) when an alternative can be had for around £60.Casbar wrote:The sensor on its own is circa £100.

This is the Schrader catalogue, Schrader TPMS: BMW R1200RT TOUR 2018-01 2020-12
This is a download from Schrader, showing the TPMS 3141M fitment for all BMW motorcycles.
BMW warranties allow the use of parts of equivalent specification to be used, therefore, shouldn't be a problem with this OE-Quality TPMS.
