I'm pretty certain it just pulls off. It is held on by three 'dog's dicks' that slot into rubber mounts/grommets. Be careful when refitting particularly the top one which can, if you're not careful, break the lug on the painted panel. Don't ask me how I know!

Thanks chaps for your advice, yes, I thought it would be the prongs into grommets but now I know !
Yes, I love the Mars red colour, that's my previous bike, my current one is also Mars red but with a load of extras.
