Mirror cover replacement

Post by Dreadnought »

Hi All,
A few weeks ago my bike (2018 BMW R1200RT LC (K52)) got knocked over whilst parked and had about £200 worth of damage to various bits, all of which are simple to replace apart from the RH mirror cover (this bit: https://bmw.europe-moto.com/gb/mirrors- ... gL4jvD_BwE). I thought it would be a simple job of removing the mirror lens and then stripping down, however:

A, I cant seem to get the mirror lens off (not the same as the previous model)
B, There doesn't seem to be a logical way of disassembling the mirror housing

Has anyone done this and can they please advise on how the mirror strips down and I really don't want any more damaged plastic parts?

Cheers
Dread

The back of the housing just slides off

You have to give it a good tug but it just slides out
