Hello from Northern Ireland

Post by Timcully »

I'm a first time owner of a BMW bike, recently bought a 2024 reg r1250rt Sport in blue, love the colour, just 1600 miles on the clock, I went in to test ride the GS1300 and GSA1300, they are great bikes, then I decided to try and RT, and I was sold, as I don't go off road, the comfort and especially the height suited me better also, Unbelievable handling, and the torque!!, I've put engine guards on and picked up a 28L top box for 1-2 days trips, I also have the BMW 49L for longer tours in Europe, kindly donated to me from a friend, as he has a small box and never used the 49L, it's of his 2008 RT, but fits the newer models, I might spray it the same colour as the bike. Perfect for touring, and long days in the saddle, Only downside so far, is the central locking button on the handle bars has stopped working a couple of days ago, central locking is working with the key fob. So unless I have done something stupid, I'll have to take a trip to Motorrad in Belfast.

Welcome. I'm a Bangor boy but live over the water now.

Bet you'll have some great trips both sides of the border.

Hello, I'm just over the lough for Bangor, I've been in Scotland and over to Donegal so far, and a few spins up the Antrim coast, getting used to it, though it's an excuse as very easy bike to ride. I'm looking forward to my summer 3 week tour in Spain :)
