Re: Dartmoor - Ride Out 31/05/24

At 15:54, Markus was at Bristol and 1 hour from Exeter.

He will be at Vertu BMW Motorrad Exeter on Friday (31st May) at 10am, probably leaving around 11am.

Hopefully, I'll be there too, look forward to seeing you all.

Is the ground/earth connection from the battery to the frame or engine. I've had read elsewhere that BMW may not use the the frame and the earth is connected to the engine.

Re: Map update

Have spoken to Garmin, they are not aware of map updates being discontinued for the Zumo 660.

However, with fewer devices using NT rather than NTU maps, updates if any, are likely to be less frequent in the future.

Looking back, I've only had one update per year for the last couple of years.

Unless the trains aren't running, Markus will definitely be there.

Dartmoor - Ride Out 31/05/24

There is a good chance that Markus & I will be meeting up at Vertu BMW Motorrad Exeter on Friday 31st May 2024 and having a ride out through Dartmoor.

Should this happen (TBC), would anyone be interested in joining us for a brew and/or ride out.

Re: Map update

As of today, my most recent Zumo 660 NT 2024.10 map update is 1 year old. When connecting the device to the PC, a message popped up on the device stating that the maps were over 1 year old and I should update/purchase new maps. I purchased lifetime updates for my 2011 device and the 2013 device is a...

Re: Lever plunger ?

Could the thread on the plunger be dressed up using a die. The grub screw in the barrel could be drilled out and threads re-tapped, together with the thread for the plunger. Or, drill out both threads and fit Time-Serts to repair the threads. Alternatively, have a new barrel manufactured.

Re: Lever plunger ?

I'm confused (easily done), were the plungers removed without removing the grub screws, then screwed back in.

Re: Lever plunger ?

Were the grub screws removed from both the brake and clutch levers, with the plungers being removed and reused in the replacement levers.

Is this the grub screw in question which needs to be loosened to adjust or remove the plunger.

Re: Lever plunger ?

Is it the plunger adjuster or grub screw in the barrel which is rounded out.

If it's the grub screw, this might do the trick, https://a2stainless.co.uk/product/m4-x- ... in-914-a2/

Re: Lever plunger ?

Remove the clutch side, check the size and see if Stig Fasteners have one to fit, https://a2stainless.co.uk/page/1/?s=gru ... pe=product

I've read that they may by M4 x 8mm x 0.7mm pitch.
