Re: 2017 RT diffs - transmission shaft and bearing - any prior issues?
Thank God BMW saw sense and moved to one switch indicators, the 3 switch system was absolutely shambolic in my humble opinion of 40 odd years motorcycling.

Re: Transmission fail? Not FD.
The "shudder" was very similar to what I experienced when the clutch gave up on my K1200GT. That too was an expensive, highly labour intensive repair. :'(

Re: Disc lock.
I use an Oxford Boss alarmed disc lock as an extra visible deterrent to any thief. Gave me a slightly lower insurance quote if another Thatcham approved device was in use. Unless your bike is anchored to the floor with a big dog lying next to it, a very determined thief, given time would r...

Re: Keyless ride
Like has been said ,is it so difficult to insert a key into the ignition. I am having enough problems un learning clutch operation after 40 years riding now having Pro Shift- mind its pretty poor in first 3 gears up or down and I really would not miss keyless or Pro Shift. :))

Controller sub menu
Has anyone any trouble in selecting sub menu from controller? Mine does not seem to work pushing to the right or left, am I doing something amiss or something to bring up at next service due next month?

Re: Need advice on LOW SEAT option for r 1200RT
My Low Seat has same electrical connections as Normal height seat. Due to the unseasonable warm weather, I must admit it has never been turned on yet, but presume it will work fine. There is slight loss of seat padding on Low Seat but feels so much better flat footing than tip toes.

Vstark, my Sister in Law lives in Sheridan Oregon but is currently visiting us in England. She rides pillion on friends Harleys at home, but is blown away by the looks and performance of my RT LC. She likes our bendy roads but misses her local mountain roads too.
