Re: NAV VI on central locking

You are quite correct Sprintgull, the n/side would work just as well, the only reason I used the o/side storage is that I have the relays for my driving lamps, horns and therefore the extra earth(s) available, makes a neat job for when the BMW techs do their stuff, (as everything is labelled) until ...

Re: NAV VI on central locking

Very interesting, but I have a couple of questions : Does not having an audio system make any difference to the procedure ? and Does "keyless ride" make any difference to the procedure ? I have keyless ride and no audio system but I'd like to make this modification at some point. Providin...

Re: Nav VI Initial comments and concerns

Should you wish to, you can buy a linkage, central locking module and use that, taking a feed from the RHS locker to "lock" the NAV V / NAV VI onto the bike, yes if someone really wants to get the unit they'll force it off however, if its just whilst your refuelling, its good. I have uploa...

Re: BMW StreetGuard textile suit....problems.....?

Well, after sending a letter to BMW UK, outlining my trials over the 29 months, which equated to 103 hours in the saddle (mainly due to my back injury) I had the suit, returning it 4 times in total, all for leaking areas, they have replied and stated that the suit is out of their 2 year warranty and...

BMW StreetGuard textile suit....problems.....?

I have had one of these suits since May 2015 and have returned the trousers twice and jacket once within the 2 years warranty as they leaked. The warranty expired May this year. I ride all year round, through good and not so good weather, but between May and September, I was lucky wit...

Re: New tank bag

All, After purchasing one of these tank bags, I spoke to BMW HQ Technical Manager about another issue and he stated to be careful how much weight is put into this type of bag. The original bolts are only "spec'd" to hold the fuel flange on and not to take any significant weight. One to be ...

Re: Datatag registration on new bike

I recently purchased a 15 RTW and paid the £15,50 for registration to DataTag and have received my documents from them. I can only locate 2 etchings on my bike, so will be purchasing some more ASAP.

Re: 2014- Switch of headlight after engine started

A similar method to the older models (upto 2010) - I have on occasions turned off my dipped beams depending on what is behind me or in low sun, so that I increase my contrast to my surroundings, increasing the chances of road users seeing me, instead of blending in :-)

Just a thought ......

Re: 2014- Switch of headlight and Auxiliary after switching on the ignition

On models upto 2010 you can press the indicator cancel paddle for 5 seconds then the right indicator paddle for 5 seconds and the dipped beam lamps would turn off, either with the engine running or not (ignition obviously has to be energised). I sometimes turned dipped beam off in low sunlight or de...

Re: Help for Fenix bullets fog lights and camera installation

If you are installing many electrical "farkles", you could consider using a fusebox or distribution box (http://www.sportouring.co.uk/product-category/electronics-gadgets/lighting-power-solutions/sps/) and using a trigger to energise it when the ignotion is switched on. I have used one fro...
