i have a 2108 R1200RT and I added the factory LEDs and they don’t turn on. I bought the lights, wiring harness and handlebar switch from BMW thinking it’s plug and play ..... guess not. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Factory LED lights added - don’t work
Re: Factory LED lights added - don’t work
I believe that you have to have them 'Turned On' by your local BMW stealer. Control by ECU I think.

Are they supposed to come on at "ignition on" or only with the headlight ? Once the dealer has activated them that is ?

I think you will need what is referred to as a can ioener, ie a canbus connector box to enable these and other accessories to work on a CANBUS wired bike. If its BMW genuine parts go back to your dealer they have to activate them.
Re: Factory LED lights added - don’t work
If they are BMW aux lights, you need the dealer to switch them on. When you switch on the ignition, they come on initially, then you have to use the switch to switch them on. You only need a Cansmart, or Hex Ezcan if you are running aftermarket lights, such as Denali or Clearwater
