Re: Mirror cover replacement

You have to give it a good tug but it just slides out

Panman40 wrote: Sat May 25, 2024 1:00 pm Rounded out the 2mm Allen grub screws as they were very tight with loctite on the brake side, the clutch side was fine. It’s usable but I’d rather replace it.
That makes sense! I would maybe scour ebay and see if you can get a replacement because as you say you can't just replace the plunger :?

David. wrote: Sat May 25, 2024 1:35 pm Remove the clutch side, check the size and see if Stig Fasteners have one to fit, https://a2stainless.co.uk/page/1/?s=gru ... pe=product

I've read that they may by M4 x 8mm x 0.7mm pitch.
I believe its all part of the plunger so you can't just replace the grub screw

Re: Exhaust heat shield w/ custom exhaust

I know which bolt you are talking about all you need is a tab welding on in the right place so you can attach a "U" Clip to it so you can bolt to that

Re: Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?

I had an R1200GS RTLE done by Hilltop about 6 years ago and it made a big difference, it was so much smoother than standard, I noticed it as soon as I got on the bike, not even out of the car park and I felt happy. Here is the graph for anyone interested, I'm not sure why they were getting slated, ...

Re: Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?

Yeah it's not always about huge power gains it's just about power in the right places and making them better at the lower revs

Thanks for the offer of a test ride but no need as I will be getting mine done regardless I just need to decide whether power commander or ecu

There is pros and cons to both

Re: Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?

I was going to get a power commander on mine until I spoke to hill top motorcycles who claims the plugs are inferior and he refuses to work with them and recommends his own software. I have since read some stories about the claims he makes so now I am on the fence! Once mine has been in for the reca...

Re: Rear mud guard extender

It's an inset nut that sits in a hole shaped the same as the nut to hold it still The trouble with this is that its a nylock and tends to turn the hold round so doesn't hold the nut and allows it to spin! I had the issue on mine and had to drill it out to remove it all then replaced it but had to us...
